YOU GO ON  follows fifteen-year-old Tyler and his community as they deal with the aftermath of a school shooting and begin the transition from school shooting to prom season. 

On April 14th, 2019, following a wonderful internship with Broadway composer Andrew Lippa, YOU GO ON  had its first staged reading for an audience. Directed by SMJ and Stage Managed by Lindsay Lisanti, a 14-person cast told the story of friendship, loss, and unity in the face of unimaginable heartbreak.

- Later that month, the score was recorded by the original cast. Since the reading, six new songs have been added.

- On April 13th, 2024, after many years of rewrites, YOU GO ON had a reading in partnership with the Cincinnati Black Theater Company in Cincinnati, Ohio.  With the enormous help and support of Acting Chair Jackie Jackson, Executive Director Don Sherman and Jahkim Group, YOU GO ON will be produced and staged in the fall of 2025.

- On June 10th, 2024, “Happiness” (from YOU GO ON; originally sung by Anthony Ghali), was selected as a finalist in the emerging musical theatre song-writing contest Write Out Loud. “Happiness” was performed live at the historic 54/Below in New York City on September 9th, 2024.

The Act 2 Opening (“Therapists’ Montage”) of YOU GO ON had a featured performance in the CO NEW MUSICAL FEST on July 12th, 2021 in Denver, Colorado.
